Expanded Body South (Cuerpo Expandido Sur) is a digital archive whose purpose is to disseminate artistic works at the intersection of body and technology, created by Chilean artists both within the country and abroad, as well as works produced across South America.
The CESUR Archive, Expanded Body South (Archivo CESUR, Cuerpo Expandido Sur) focuses on organizing records and documentation of works and research in the field of movement arts—Dance, Performance, Hybrid Stage, and Live Arts—in dialogue with Media Arts, including Art and New Media, and Art–Technology practices. CESUR also hosts written material, theoretical production, and documentation related to artistic creation at the intersection of body and technology, developed by artists from the Global South. To this end, it has carried out public calls through digital platforms on three occasions.
The CESUR Archive is an initiative that forms part of the project www.cuerpoytecnologia.cl (Body and Technology), created by Caída Libre, an artistic production and programming platform directed by artist Brisa MP.
This new project, created by Caída Libre, the Expanded Body South Archive (Archivo Cuerpo Expandido Sur), seeks to contribute to the knowledge of researchers, academics, students, curators, performing arts programmers, and the artistic community by providing a body of information organized through the transversal dialogue of languages and disciplines within contemporary artistic creation from the Global South.
